Mr. Morgan graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1984. He received his law degree in 1988 from the University of Tennessee College of Law, where he was a member of the Tennessee Law Review, the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and The Order of the Coif.

Mr. Morgan concentrates his practice in construction law and complex civil litigation and arbitration. His practice includes pre-project planning and risk management, contract document drafting and negotiation for all construction delivery methods, and dispute avoidance and resolution through mediation, arbitration and litigation. Mr. Morgan has represented a broad variety of clients in the construction field, including electric and water utilities, state, city, county and local government bodies, universities, hospitals, national and international corporations, pharmaceutical companies, hotel and retail chains, private developers, design professionals, contractors, subcontractors and sureties.

Mr. Morgan has written extensively and lectured across the county on construction contracting and the prevention and resolution of construction disputes for the National Construction Law Center, the Construction Owner's Association of America, the Continuing Legal Education Program for the State of Georgia and the Council of Educational Facility Planners. Mr. Morgan is co-author of Design Professional Contract Risk Allocation: The Impact of Waivers of Consequential Damages and Other Limitations of Liabilities on Traditional Owner Rights and Remedies, published in Volume 33, No. 1, The Journal of College and University Law, 2006, published by the National Association of College and University Attorneys and the Notre Dame Law School.

Mr. Morgan serves as General Counsel to the Construction Owner's Association of America, Inc. and the Georgia Council of Educational Facility Planners, Inc.

Mr. Morgan is a member of the American Bar Association, the Georgia Bar Association and Atlanta Bar Association (former Chair of the Construction Law Section). He is AV® rated by Martindale-Hubbell.
