A native Atlantan, Mr. Merlin
graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Tulane University
in 1970. He received his law degree cum laude
from Emory University in 1973, where he earned
membership in the Order of the Coif.
Mr. Merlin concentrates on transactional matters,
including business acquisitions and contract
negotiations for corporate clients, as well
as tax and wealth planning for individuals.
His practice has historically been concentrated
in representing privately owned companies and
the families who own them, but he also conducts
acquisitions and major contract negotiations
for public companies as well.
Mr. Merlin has lectured at the Institute of
Taxation at New York University and has published
numerous articles for various tax journals and
service organizations. He has held and continues
to hold numerous offices and board positions
in various community organizations.
