Mr. Marani is a 1981 honors graduate of the University of Georgia School of Law. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1977 (Finance and Commercial Banking) from Bowling Green State University.
Mr. Marani's practice emphasizes creditors' rights including most aspects of commercial law, commercial litigation and bankruptcy law. After more than 30 years of experience in such matters, Mr. Marani has a strong background in business litigation, debt restructures, landlord, secured creditor and equipment lessor representation, Uniform Commercial Code disputes and bankruptcy related litigation. He has represented a wide array of creditor interests in bankruptcy cases nationally and has served as counsel to creditors' committees and bankruptcy trustees.
Mr. Marani has appeared in numerous federal and state courts in the State of Georgia and throughout the country. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association as well as their respective Bankruptcy Sections. He has lectured at seminars on various topics relating to creditors' rights, bankruptcy, collection and insolvency law.
Mr. Marani is admitted to all federal and state trial courts within the State of Georgia, the Eleventh Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals and the United States Supreme Court.
In 2008, Mr. Marani was named one of "Georgia's Legal Elite 2008 -- The Best Lawyers in Georgia" by GeorgiaTrends magazine.
